Merry Christmas/Happy New Year
Merry Christmas/Happy New Year

Merry Christmas!

At the Dharma center I attend in upstate New York, Sundays talk offered a reflection on the holiday season as a time to slow down and reconnect with what matters most.

But it’s not always like this for everyone. For those who are grieving, nostalgic for the past, or still feeling the weight of loss, the holidays can magnify those emotions.

And for those fearing the future—concerned about war, climate change, or uncertainty—this season might not bring the same sense of joy.

Still, the lights we hang on trees or place in windows hold meaning. They remind us that even in the darkest times, there is hope, love, and connection to be found.

This season, may we honor all emotions, embrace imperfections, and let the quiet glow of light guide us back to what truly matters.

Contribute with Gratitude

In the spirit of Zen, I embrace the practice of mindful generosity. Rather than setting fixed fees, I offer workshops on a "Dana" (offering) basis, inviting participants to contribute what feels meaningful and aligned with their capacity.

This approach honors the balance between giving and receiving, creating a space where everyone can participate with intention and gratitude.
