All Parts Are Welcome - Annecy Báez

Hey everyone, and welcome to Inksite! I'm absolutely thrilled to have you join this vibrant and healing community. For those who haven't met me yet, I've been diving deep into Internal Family Systems (IFS) for several years, and it's been an incredibly transformative journey. IFS, developed by the amazing Dr. Richard Schwartz, is a powerful therapeutic model that guides us in exploring and healing our inner worlds. Let's embark on this exciting journey together!

IFS views the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with its own role and voice, and all guided by the central concept of the "Self." The Self, in IFS, is our core—the compassionate, wise, and calm center within us that can lead our inner system with curiosity and care. It’s a profoundly healing concept, and I’ve seen how understanding and connecting with the Self can transform not only therapy but also creative practices like writing.

Integrating IFS and Writing

In this space, I’m thrilled to share how we’ll explore the intersections of IFS and creative expression. Writing is a powerful tool for self-discovery, and when combined with IFS, it allows us to give voice to the different parts of ourselves while staying connected to the guidance of our Self. Whether through journaling, storytelling, or poetry, writing can help us heal, process, and connect with our inner world.

Many of the writing workshops at Inksite will include elements of IFS, guiding us to reflect on our parts, their stories, and how we can engage with them from a place of Self-leadership. This approach opens a doorway to deep healing and personal growth while fostering creativity.

Starting With the Concept of Self

To begin our journey, we’ll start with the foundational concept of "Self" in IFS.

Take some time this week to reflect on these questions:

  • What does "Self" mean to you?

  • How do you connect with and experience your own Self?

  • Have you noticed moments when you were fully in touch with your Self, even during challenges?

Share your thoughts and reflections in the comments below. If you’ve had personal experiences of connecting with your Self or insights from your professional practice, I’d love to hear them.

Remember, this is a safe and supportive space. There are no right or wrong answers—each person’s journey is unique, and we can all learn from one another’s perspectives.

I am Annecy Báez — educator, IFS (level 2) trained psychotherapist, and writer, author of My Daughter’s Eyes and Other Stories. I am devoted to exploring the healing power of creativity and inner connection. Through IFS and expressive writing, I invite individuals to listen deeply to their inner worlds, nurturing compassion, resilience, and the unfolding of Self-leadership. I believe that every story we carry, like every part within us, holds the possibility of healing and transformation.

Contribute with Gratitude

In the spirit of Zen, I embrace the practice of mindful generosity. Rather than setting fixed fees, I offer workshops on a "Dana" (offering) basis, inviting participants to contribute what feels meaningful and aligned with their capacity.

This approach honors the balance between giving and receiving, creating a space where everyone can participate with intention and gratitude.
